Finally Celebrating The Double Digits

We finally got around to celebrating the boys birthday in February. I know. I get mom of the year. They wanted a movie night and it was fun. Pizza, ice cream, treats, and a movie. Perfect night.
We had a houseful of boys and the Aiden and Andrew loved it. I, however, couldn't believe how boys act sometimes.

Now I can't remember what movie was watched. I guess that is why you do your journal as life happens.

All the boys were to nice to give gifts. Always the favorite part of the night.

Love these boys and so glad they made it to our family!

Double Digits

My boys turned 10.
10!
When did that happen. I was gone on their birthday, but made it back just in time to wish them a Happy one.

Luckily Trent took care of them.

They hit up McDonalds for a great birthday breakfast.

And then went sledding. This is one of my all time favorite pics.

Love those boys of mine.
And Trent for making their day special.

Movie Time

We saw a couple of great movies the past 2 days. The first one was preceded with a delicious meal at Crown. Now that I don't eat food like this, it was such a treat and I enjoyed every last bite.

American Sniper was next. Loved every minute of it. made me appreciate was servicemen do even more. Such a good show every American (and non-American) should see it.

We also saw Rudderless. Loved it. Loved the music, Loved the story, and loved the twist.

Hard, but good day

We were able to attend Rosemary Neiders's funeral today. She was an amazing lady and left an amazing legacy. It was such a good service that inspired everyone to live life just a little better.

And to enjoy food a little more.

Tony

Sunday morning I woke up to some of the worst news. My cousin Tony had been killed. I remember when he was adopted, him has a toddler, him growing, and his never ending smile.

We headed to the funeral the day after Christmas. We left spouses and kids at home, so it was just the original Veigels. The occasion was not fun, but it was really good to be with my family. They are the best.

The service was really good. Mandi did the life sketch. Clay spoke and did an amazing job. Megan sang the most beautiful song. Wish I had it recorded. And Mike finished everything with one of the best talks I've heard. The spirit and strength of the Hansens has amazed me. Love that family too.

???

I had this draft in my blog for a while. This is what you get when you procrastinate blogging for almost a year. You don't remember where you were going with it. But I am trying to recommit myself to blogging because I love looking back on my  life.

Our vacuum that we had since we bought our first house died. It was a sad day. What was sadder was our dirty carpets. Trent was overjoyed when this new baby came. He spent a  good hour or more vacuuming the whole house.

Sometimes all kids need are a box. The vacuum proved good for more than cleaning.

And sometimes mom's just need a little bit more personal space.

These two. They try our patience every day. And Trent and I are failing, which I am trying to work on. However, sometimes there are moments like this when there is no fighting or whining and everything is perfect. They even managed to do it in the perfect spot.

One day I got up really early, ran, and was in the bath soaking by 6:30. THAT my friends is very unusual for me. In fact, it is "everything I hate." Trent will understand that.

The kids have grown like weeds. Even Miss Oakley. I just had to snag a pic of her floods. But even Oakley can make floods and her tie dye shirt look so dang cute.

And I am loving my job at the High School. Basically just a hang out session with fun people.

First Snow and First Trip to the Cabin

We didn't go to the cabin all summer because for the Backyard Blowout. We finally got a change to go and it happened to be the first snow of the season as well.

The kids loved shooting the guns, bazooka style.

We slept in front of the fire and it was co-ozy.

And The Hoard decided they really liked Ping Pong.

We filled the rest of the time up with movies, naps, reading, and, of course, eating. Also some good discussions were had.

Hopefully we don't go don't go another 9 months until our next visit.

What's Happening?

Here are a bunch of random pics which describes our life right now.

I get to watch these guys every once in a while.

And I have to figure out ways to feed them at the same time.
The blanket bottle holder comes in handy.

And sometimes I have runs that kill me.

And some runs that just work out perfect.
I've been trying to get my time back down to what it used to be, hence the above death picture.

Stocked up on the necessities.

Ate/played with some turkey.

Went on a walk with these munchkins.

Morgan continues to be Trent's shadow, although this one made me nervous.

We dined at Crown Burger to celebrate the end of Cam's semester. The kids thought Grandpa was the jungle gym.

Ate at Jason's Deli for grandma night. LOVE the turkey wrap and the free ice cream cones.

And then I got pampered with a massage from Kim while listening to Sweeney Todd.

And that's the local Haps.

The Perfect Spot

Now that we have a properly working fireplace we all like to gather in front of it. It is now the favorite spot when the fire is up and burning.

It really is a sweet spot.

Cocoons

The girls have this new thing they do with our bar stools. They somehow put their blankets in so it make a little pocket just big enough for their bodies. I call them cocoons and it makes me so claustrophobic to see them lay in their.

and believe it or not they actually sleep in there.

 Kids and their sleeping arrangements.

Miss Z

Meet Miss Zoey.
 She is the cutest thing.

So happy that I wasn't sick this time around. I hate when I can't meet the new babies right  away.

Spring Break

We stayed home for our Spring Break this year and had the Bentley's join us. We put our fire pit to use one last time.

We had a huge sleepover in the living room. James woke up with a sore body.

And we hit up church and piled in the back of the Bohemith on the way home.

Then it snowed and the kids built snowmen and snow ball fighting walls.

It was a very low key, relaxing weekend.

Insta Post

Here is another insta post. One of the easiest ways to get caught up.

The girls insist on doing their own hair lately. And I have learned to let them. They may look like orphans, but they love doing it.

And this girl is a lot lake me and loves her some Lay's.

And one night I woke up to a horrible smoke smell. I looked around the house thinking it was on fire and found Aiden cuddling with a burnt hot bag. He said he only put it in the microwave for 5 minutes. Needless to say our house smelled horrible for a few days.

These 3 kill me. They are so into movies and rating, discuss, and analyzing them. Their Man Club is Trent's favorite activity and he looks forward to it all month long.

I started babysitting the twins and it took me back to our crazy days.

Came upstairs to find Morgan utilizing the TP for something other than wiping.

I had to pull out my winter gear for some runs.

And the boys got to go to the premier of Captain America. They thought it was pretty darn cool.
