Playing Catch Up

I have a lot of blogging to do. I mean a lot. So we are doing it the easy way and going off of Instagram.
I got a new calling and am a Den Mother. Not real happy about wearing the shirt, but I am loving my calling.

Jenny started school and we all got to benefit. I got a facial and a pedicure. It was so nice.

This guy came over a few times and he wasn't happy with me.

Had a couple of jogging partners one morning.

Paige was running to school so fast that her legs couldn't keep up with her body. She headplanted it and was bleeding down her face. Luckily we have awesome neighbors that helped her to school. I got to bandage her up and send her back.

We are loving having Grandma Wiggles so close. The kids love to visit and love getting a treat from the fridge.

These 2 are crazy girls, but so cute when they sleep. Even Morgan with her eyes half open.
We bough a new super sized grill which makes making food for the Hoard real easy.

We were lucky enough to get to pick out pumpkins from Kim and Luke's backyard. They grow some pretty awesome pumpkins.

We dined at Crown Burger.

These 3 got together one morning and played.

And in the midst of all this our fridge leaked. Our ice maker wouldn't stop filling up the tray so it overflowed all over the floor.  Such a bummer to refinish newer floors.

And then we found out it was so bad that we would have to replace them. Even worse.

So we lived like this for a couple weeks.

And ate out for almost every meal.

It got old pretty quick.
Finally the got done and we got out kitchen back.
And that leads us up to the Marathon. Duh Duh Dunnn!

Our kids are lucky to have a ton of family around that will step in and babysit for us. And they always have more fun with them than us too.
Kim and Luke took The Hoard while we were run the Red Rock.. unfortunately for them it was a rainy weekend. When they weren't indoors staying dry, they were outdoors playing soccer.

The girls had practice so the boys made up their own games.
Oakley had a game and speaking of good babysitter. Emi was nice enough to step in and coach the team.

Even Oliver got into the soccer action.

And they barely made it home before the downpour started.
And then they spent the rest of the time playing legos.

Thanks Kim and Luke!

Temple Day

Right after Red Rock we all got to go through the Temple with Jenny. Always a good experience.

And someone remind me to never wear that outfit again....or remind me to stop eating entirely. Woof.

Red Rock Relay 2013

Now on to Red Rock Relay
This has become one of my all time favorite relays.
Brad, Heidi, and I headed down a day early to enjoy some of our favorite things like napping, golfing, reading, eating, shopping, and a little bit of working.

Brad even "shopped" with us for a little bit.

I found a leather jacket that I purchased and Maga said I if I grew my hair out I would look just like Stan Ellsworth. Spitting image I'd say.

Before our run we made a late night trip to swigs. Perfect prerace meal.

We headed up to Bryce Canyon (I think?) and had plenty of time to hang out in the lodge.

Our first runs were a success with a few of us climbing huge mountains.

And  its always good to get your first run out of the way and give it to the next runner.

We were lucky enough to have Blake be our driver. He did a fantastic job getting us everywhere we needed to be.

We slept were we could.

And then the downpour hit. Kristen got the worst of hit. It seriously was so much rain.
My run was on a dirt road which turned to about 5 inches of mud. It was one of the hardest runs because it felt like I had 10 pound weights on each of my feet.

After we all finished our final runs we hit up the local McDonalds for some hash browns and hot sauce.

Us girls chilled in the car....
While the boys slaved away cleaning the car.

We all took our spots and slept until it was time to meet the other van at the finish line.

Always love seeing the finish line and Van 2 finished us off right. Jake was the lucky one to bring us in.

Team Bonk!

I always document my individual runs, but seeing how I am trying to blog this about 3 months later it might not be that great.
My legs were a total of 21.7 miles.
They were pretty hard, but luckily I had been training for my marathon so that helped out a little bit.
Leg 1
My first leg was all down hill. All 7.2 miles of it. It was fun.
Leg 2

Like I said this one was rough. It was muddy, dark, and uphill. I was slipping and sliding and weighed down. So glad to get that one done.
Leg 3.

My final leg looked like it was mostly down hill, however, they had us run on the trail by the road which was so much steep up and down. A lot harder than I thought. Oh and I had to climb over the mountain to Dixie Rock. Pretty hard, but it was a good one.
Trent and I were not in the same van. For some reason Trent and I are always the couple that gets separated. I think people just can't handle our constant pet names and public displays of affection. ;)

Now on to the nicknames. Always a favorite
Road Kill
Kristen rocked the course. She had a doozy of a first and second leg, but she did amazing. On her last leg she almost stepped on a dead cat in the road. Road Kill was born when that cat died.
Cross Fit Chris

Chris loves to come run these relays without training. Oh wait...he does train...he does cross fit.

This girl loves her food and none like she loves her dirty diet cokes and sugar cookies. Swig trips were a daily thing with this one.

When Maga compared me to Stan Ellsworth the name just stuck. What can I say?

Nate got sick right before the relay, which gave him this really creepy voice. He sounded like a creepy guy that would be trying to get kids into his van. But just for the record, Nate really isn't a pedophile.

Larry tried one of the girls shirts on while we were killing time at the lodge. Lets just say he looks better in the shirt than I do. So instead of Larry he became Laura.
Farm Boy
Blake was our very own Farm Boy. Whenever anyone would forget something from the van he was up and fetching it. Oh Sweet Wesley.
We did have a blast in our van. Loved every minute of it.

And after all was said and done. The Jensen watched the Utah game and my dad and I got Benja's take out. Perfect end to a perfect race.

And just to brag a little bit. We came in 9th. Although we do think Booyah! cheated. Somehow.
And last but not least the quotes and highlights.

If your gonna spew, spew in this.
That's a man.
It's a spawning ground for Oompa Loompas.
Do you need any bandaids for those bloody nipples? I'll even put them on for ya.
I tripped over a dead cat.
Is she even running?
Hey little boys what some candy
Larry just killed Santa
They'll get there twenty minutes before she does!
Can you make it dirty?
That's Trent's wife? Woof!
You know when you get to the end of your run and you end up having to run another mile? It's so nice.
Can I have 4, no 5, 7, ok 10 hash browns please?
Are we almost finished...uh no. We are at 1.5 miles.
Memorable moments
Nate pooping 20 times during our last runs.
The downpour during Kristen's run.
Chris warming up for his first run
Larry trying on the girls shirt.
Heidi laughing hysterically in the back. Can't remember what she was laughing at though.
Our servant, farm boy.
The mud run
Larry waiting for Nate passed the change because he didn't want to get dirty.
Swig trips
The lovely hard boiled egg smell that filled the car everytime the cooler opened.
Cant forget Roller derby lady
Funky pants "famo" business we are going to start.
Raptor runner
The van yelling "nice ass" to nate when he bent down to pick up the flag that blew off our car.
Cafe rio ice bags.
Peanut butter sandwiches at 3am.  YUM!
The marshmallow roller
The guy running so close (drafting) hehind larr bear, and blake calling him out on it.
CUTE GREEN sweatshirts
DIRTY cokes!
(I think if there was a theme for this race it would be would "dirty")
