Our Carnivore

We got a Costco rotisserie chicken last night. For those that have never had one of these, you should. They are very, very good. Andrew was really excited about it too. This was the part of the chicken he requested:
He went to town on the chicken leg. There really wasn't much left on the bone:
We wonder where he gets it:
They do share the same name...

Bounce

We went to Josh's B-Day party this week. The kids had a blast with all 3 jumping gyms. Always a good time at the Bentley's. Thanks Heidi for the party AND taking my boys to play with Josh ALL day. You are awesome! And Happy Birthday to Josh!

Tap it in...

Last week we had a little mini golf tournament with the Elders Quorum. Of course, if I get a night away with kids I want to eat out and I had been craving Cafe Rio for a long time, so that was the place to go. Trent opted for a little Beto's, which apparently nobody in the ward likes except Trent and I. Oh well, not everyone has exceptional taste. ;)
We were having some camera issues. Blake couldn't get us all in the shot, so I just included both.
We took the Beast that night, which means wind and messed up hair. That is why I didn't do my hair to begin with. Once again we had issues getting everyone in one shot.

We finally made it to Cherry Hill and everyone came ready to play. I forgot just how much I CAN'T play miniature golf. However, it was still an awesome time and we always have a blast hangin with our neighborhood friends.
We finished the night perfectly with a trip to Firehouse for a delicious FZhookie!!! Talk about a perfect night out-Cafe Rio, a little friendly competition, and a FZhookie. What could be better?

Flips

Little Oakley started gymnastics today with 2 of her cute friends. She has been looking forward to this for weeks. Yes, I said weeks. A certain mom wouldn't get things organized and get Oakley started. I finally became unlazy and we found a class that all the girls could be in together. Lets just say that the experience lived up to the months of anticipation. Oakley LOVED it. And seeing how she is a midget she looked extra cute doing all her 'tricks.' We are already counting the days down until the next class!

Its Time To Get Prepared...

We have been told over and over to have our food storage ready. Trent and I have been working really hard to make sure we have the 'essentials' in case of an emergency:
And most importantly:

Preschool Time

I have 3 kids in preschool. So awesome. I love preschool. I love the break it gives me, I love the fact that I don't have to do the cute crafty things with my kids (the teacher handles that quite nicely), and I love that my kids love it. In fact my boy were so excited that I couldn't find them this morning. I had no idea where they were or how long they had been gone. I had the thought that they must have ran down to preschool. Sure enough I went down there and they were sitting on Mrs. Eggetts front step. I found out later they had been down there for a good 1/2 hour. What mom doesn't realize her kids are gone for a 1/2 hour?

Oakley

Here is the difference between my boys and Oakley:
The boys couldn't get there fast enough...again. They ran the whole way there.

Oakley was so excited, but nervous at the same time. She held my hand the whole way down. I LOVE this picture!
Overall, we had a great first day of school. The boys will have no problem adjusting to the life of a preschooler again. Oakley, being the shy one of the family, might need a few days to adjust and make new friends. Luckily, a cute girl from the ward is in her class. That should make things slightly easier.

Dang That Costco

I have a love/hate relationship with free samples at Costco. I love going around to the different tables and getting some free food. Sometimes I do that for lunch...Okay, who am I kidding. I eat the samples and then go home and have lunch too. ;) The hate part of the relationship comes when I eat something that tastes sooo good, then I can't stop thinking about it for a few days, until I eventually go back and buy it.

Case in point, Krusteaz Pumpkin Spice Bread:
This bread mix is delicious and with the changing of the weather I have been craving 'fall' treats. Monday the sample of the day was this pumpkin treat. I tried it, had it on my mind for 3 days, and, finally, broke down and made some of my own. Shoot. Although, 3 days is a long time for me to go when I have a certain food on my brain. So, in a way, I AM proud of myself...
The kids enjoyed them too. Which will save me from eating the whole dozen.

Spontaneous Picnic

I had to go into work yesterday morning so I thought we would stop at the park on the way home and have a picnic. It was actually really nice. Minimal fighting, some good food, and getting a little fresh air and sun on your face does anyone good right?

Labor Races

We had a good Holiday weekend. Trent decided that one race wasn't enough. He did the Spanish Fork Half Marathon on Saturday morning. He did really well and got a PR of 121:48 and second place overall. I was a little jealous because this was the half I was going to train for until I hurt my knee. Ah, the body. Why can't it work perfectly all the time?

Then seeing how we weren't going anyway he signed up for the sprint triathlon at the rec center. He did awesome, he placed 4th and finished with a time of 57:46! Yes, he is a machine.
The girls and I were able to watch him finish the triathlon Monday morning. It was fun to see him cross the finish line and the girls were so excited. I also got to see my old friend Jenny B from the glorious softball days, which was an added bonus!

What's For Lunch?

Spider Eyes
Andrew told me he wanted to have spider eyes for lunch today. I had no idea what he was talking about. He said I ate it the other day with my yogurt. I finally realized he meant blackberries. Honestly, why would anyone want to eat spider eyes?
