Our 24th Celebrations

We have had fun for the past few day. I always loved the 24th growing up. I look forward to the food and fun all year!

First up, the Fireworks!

Trent and I being the not fun, worn out parents that we are, didn't want to hassle with the parade and our Hoard. We decided to just stay home and enjoy the festivities from our roof. It is a perfect view if you ask me! And actually Trent went to bed at 8:00 because he had to be up at 3:00 to run the Deseret New Marathon. Once again, I didn't want to deal with kids and downtown Salt Lake, so we just stayed home while Trent ran. He did well and got a time of 2:57 and came in 11th!

Next the Fair!
It is a lot of work to go anywhere with this group. Thanks to all the family that helped control the chaos. It was HOT, but a good time. Although, Trent was complaining at how much everything cost...

The boys favorite was the Shark slide. I don't know how many times they went on it. And it was 2 tickets per one trip down the slide. Wow. I guess Trent had every right to complain.

A classic, the Fish Pond. I used to love this when I was little. And now I love watching my kids get so excited to fish for their prize. Now if we can just figure out how to get the kids not to fight over what they get.

The swing. The kids loved this one as well. My favorite picture is the top left one. All the kids were corralled like a bunch of cattle.
Finally the Food!

I love fair food. It makes me happy. And the food was actually pretty reasonably priced...compared to the rides anyways. My fave is the BBQ sandwich and it did not disappoint. My kids favorite were the scones. Just 364 more days until the next fair...

I totally forgot about this Holiday! I used to love it! Box H baby!! Great pictures, and I can't believe you let your kids get on your roof. I am a chicken.

Nice, I'm jealous of your firework view! We hit the parade and skipped the fireworks. Wish we had done the opposite! Davis was pretty beat after the parade though.
I agree the rides at the fair are a total RIP!!! Probably why we haven't gone. Too cheap! Mmm, I'm with your kids... scones!!!

What a fun 24th . . . and another awesome marathon for Trent. He's just busting those babies right out. Crazy.

That fair looks like a blast with your kids. Glad it was a fun weekend.

July 24th is the best time of year I totally agree. Especially in Bountiful where you stuff on the 23rd and 24th! I didn't make it to the fair, but I bet I would have agreed with your kids and had scones. Yum

I loved the fish pond when I was little. I miss the Bountiful 24th of July Celebrations!! We were supposed to come up for it this year but had to cancel our trip at the last minute...maybe next year. I am glad you had fun with your cute family.

I cannot believe how much you get out with your kiddies. You guys are awesome. Sorry I missed the fun, but I was a little caught up with my projects at home. Lame.

I am impressed that you went to the fair. I am too lazy to take my boys. And I hate the heat. I wish my boys had a mom like you.

For the record Amy is the source of all the fun in our family. If she were gone my kids would rarely see the outside of our yard. She is always making us have fun and the kids love it.
