Camping

Trent and I decided to pack up the kids and jeep and head out camping for part of Labor Day weekend. We went out the door forgetting a few things, but managed to survive without them. We ended up camping in a place that you could only access with an off roading vehicle of some sort. It was pretty awesome to be stuck in the middle of nowhere by ourselves.
After we unpacked we went on a little drive. Trent didn't think the 3 hour ride to the campsite was enough. Trent loves to drive his jeep around and will take any excuse to do it.

And I had to include the pic of the muddy tires. That is the kids favorite part, driving through HUGE mud puddles.

And here are some random pics from around camp:
Andrew wanted me to take a picture of him on this stump.

Then of course the girls needed their picture taken as well.

And I love this shot.

This was the "lake" at the top of the road. It was more of a giant mud puddle, but seeing how the kids love mud they loved the lake.

Andrew made his own log cabin up there. This is "his room" where he sleeps.

And if the others would carry sticks to him, he allowed them to enter.

And here is the view from our campsite. If you enlarge it and look closely, you can see my cute fam across the lake.
It is always fun when you look back through the videos and pictures. You tend to forget the whining, fighting, annoyingness (I know that isn't a word), and work that goes into it. I am sure there will be many more camp outs to blog about and hopefully it gets easier with each one.

That is so cool! What a phenomenal education you are giving your kids. The art of enjoying the outdoors is lost on so many. The jeep is intense! Love the shot of the lake and the bums of all your kiddos. And all the stick construction is good, clean fun too.

I think that is so fun that you went camping with thw kids. I don't think there is much camping with my kids in the future. I need to do better at that with the boys. It looks like it was beautiful up there.

You guys are awesome! I still am not attempting the camping thing for a year or more! It is so much work, but like you said, so worth it in the end!

I am so glad you guys take your kids to do fun things! We only have 3 and we love camping. But it is always amazing to me when people say you are taking your kids there or to do that. It is such great family time! We need another girls night it was really fun getting to know all of you.
