Old Friends and Running Races

Here are a couple highlights from our weekend. Friday night we went to a bbq at my friend Cecilie's new house. Our friend from High School, Sarah, was in town. None of us had seen her in 3 years and it was the first time I had ever met her husband! (He seems real great by the way Sarah!) It was a good meal, with good company, and good fun. I even got to play guitar hero for the first time. Sarah made me look like a fool when she went after me. That girl's got skills!

Me, Sarah, Melissa, Cecilie. I am glad I get to hang out with my friends from High School still. I love them!

We had to leave the bbq early to get home to bed. Trent and I both had races to run the next morning. Trent ran the half marathon in Spanish Fork. I, of course, opted to just do the 5K. I think it would take a miracle for me to do a 1/2 marathon!

This was after the race and we both felt so good. Trent did really well. He got 9th out of 311 runners and 1st in his age division. He ran it in 1:24:33. I did good too, for me anyway. Definitely not as good as Trent, but I am not a "real" runner yet. I came in 32nd out of 160 runners. I was the 10th female and I was 2nd in my age division. My time was 25:57.

I am ready for another race if anyone knows of one or wants to run one with me. It would be nice to have company!

NICE race times! Way to go, both of you! There's a 5 mile race here in Vernal that I might run. It's running down a canyon, so I've heard it's pretty easy. I'd LOVE it if you came and ran it with me! ;) My 5K that I ran was 25:47... it sounds like we'd be perfect running partners! I am serious... if you want to drive out here, you could stay at my house and everything!

I would do a race any day with you...if I were in Utah. Have you checked out active.com? They have a lot of events listed there. Also, Provo trail runners (or something like that) has a lot of really cool runs. My favorite run ever was their 10 mile run.

I am so impressed that you ran another race. You are looking so good. I've had a rough week with the weight loss. Boo. I wish I had your motivation to get out and exercise more.

Way to go you two!

I am jealous - of the race, that is! I am glad to hear that the champion maintained his winning form. It sounds like fun times. I wish I could have been there with you.

Way to go both of you! You are speed racers. Both great race times. And, Amy, you look so great. 5 kids (& 2 sets of twins) and you look like you've never been pregnant. Amazing.

By the way, I'd love to run a race with you sometime! Since my half, I've 100% slacked on my running! Hate that about myself. If you find a good one, let me know.

I really hate running, but I am proud of you for doing it way to go! Thanks for the Old Navy tip by the way, I just bought Alex his winter wardrobe!

It was so great to see you and all of your family! Your kids are every bit as cute in person. We definitely need to get together again sooner rather than later. Thanks again for all your hard work planning the bbq. It was a lot of fun!

Nice work on the run! I don't even have kids and could never survive that. You seriously are Wonder Woman!

I am still so amazed that you do that! I could not run 400 yds let alone a 5K!!!!!! That is great! Keep it up.

Way to go on the races! I'm jealous! Again, where do you find the time? You both are making me feel very lazy! I've ran several 5Ks, but I think my fastest time was like 28 minutes, so you're a little speedier then me. If you haven't already you will definately have to run the race for the cure next May. That is my favorite one!

Amy you are my hero. Good job running a 5k and doing so well. I'm so impressed that you have energy to do things like that.
