Missing Jake...

Every year there is a stir of excitement in the Jensen home as we await the arrival of our R.E.I. dividends. We anxiously check the mail everyday dreaming of our mini shopping spree to come. Well, this week it happened. Trent called from work on Wednesday to say that our dividend was ready to be used! When Trent got home we packed everyone up, yes everyone, and drove out to R.E.I.. The excitement soon faded about 2 minutes into the store. I don't know why we thought we could actually get some shopping done with our 5 kids. They were hiding in the clothes rack, touching everything on the shelves, and jumping off the little rock shoe tester. So, not the best time we have had at R.E.I., but it was set up for disappointment from the beginning. Not because of our kids, but because our long time shopping partner, Jake, was not there to enjoy it with us. But our kids were thinking of him, because they thought every mannequin was Jake! We will have to save the rest of our dividend to spend when he comes back. It just wasn't the same without you Jake!!

The boys were pretty excited about the swimsuits they found!

Skoochin'

Paige and Morgan have been rolling around for a few weeks and have just started skooching the past few days. And I thought our house was crazy before. I forget that they can get to different places now. So, I need to be careful what is left out for them to munch on or get stuck in!

I heard Morgan whining a little in her bedroom and I came in to find that she had gotten stuck in her closet. She hasn't learned to crawl backwards yet!

I had just changed Oakley's diaper and sat it next to me and got distracted by something. The next thing I knew Paige had crawled to it and started eating it. I know, bad mom, but she thought she was pretty funny!

To the races...

Today is the day I start training for a 10K. Now I know this distance is a mere 1/4 of the total distance that other people in this family usually run, but it is a lot for me. You see, I haven't done anything too physical in the past 4 years. I have been having babies and been either pregnant or breastfeeding since spring 2004! So, I have to start out slow and work up to longer distances. However, unlike others in the fam, I have no desire to run a full marathon. Anyways, we are looking for volunteers to come up to Bear Lake and watch the Jensen clan so Trent and I can run our races. It should be fun to watch the races and then go play in the lake all day. By the way, Trent is running the full marathon and his total time for running 26 miles will probably be shorter than my time running just 6 miles! I am pretty pathetic when it comes to running.

Cousins!

We had our Veigel Sunday dinner yesterday. It had been a long time since we had everyone together at once. (Well, Kimmy was home sick with the flu, so almost everyone was there!) It was good to get all the cousins together. This is the first picture of all the cousins since Paige, Morgan, and Jackson were born. Come to think of it, I think it is the first one since even Oakley was born! We all had a great time and delicious food!

Why buy toys???

I am sure everyone with kids can relate to this. My kids have a ton of toys they can play with, but they usually just follow me around the house making messes. Today they found the straws and thought they were the coolest things. I ended up taping them up to look like guns and the kids chased the "Spooky Mummy" all around the house. After they shot and killed the mummy they would give him a band aid and tell him that he was alright. Then the process would start over again. So, don't buy your kids a new toy, just buy them a package of bendy straws!

Poor Milo...

Milo loves to go on little field trips during the day. He escapes our yard and is gone for a few hours and returns to rest. We don't really know what he does, maybe he has a girlfriend somewhere he visits. He usually comes back fine, but over the weekend he came back with an open wound on his back. We thought it was only a couple of inches long, but we took him to the vet yesterday and he came back with this massive wound. Who would of thought one dog could cause this much trouble?

Brooke

Brooke came up from St. George to visit the Jensen fam and made a special trip up to the crazy house to see all my kids. I love how much she loves my kids. Everyone was so excited to see Brooke come through the door!

My Valentine...

I had the best Valentines Day I have ever had. Usually we do not celebrate this holiday. Neither one of us are too romantic and we do not believe in the traditional things like a candlelit dinner or a dozen roses. But I had planned on making Trent his favorite thing for dinner-ribeye steak, potatos, and hot rolls. It was far from romantic with are two babies rolling around in the next room and our three other crazy kids surrounding us eating their dino nuggets, but it actually turned out really good. However, dinner was not the highlight of my day. This morning after we finished feeding all our kids I was expecting to say goodbye to Trent as he went off to work. But, to my surprise, he had taken the day off! I was so excited to have him home to help with the kids for the day. It was better than anything he could have purchased at any store! So, we all hung out together today. Heidi, James, and Josh even came up to play this morning. My kids love to play with their cousins and I think they might love to play with their Aunt Heidi even more! To finish the night off, we dropped some Valentines off at some of our neighbors. So, my day was great with extra activities, extra help, extra good food, and one amazing husband. Isn't he hot in this pic? Nothing better than a man with a moustache!

Shopping

So, today I was going crazy, (more than usual) and when I go crazy - I go shopping. Since I cannot pack 5 kids up and go out to the stores, I shop online. Old Navy is one of my favorites! They are having their baby sale where everything is 40% off. So, I bought all my kids their summer clothes for real cheap. I was so excited to get so many cute clothes for ALL my kids at such a low price. Lets hope Trent thinks the same thing when he gets the bill in the mail. So, if any of you need some cute clothes for your kids go check out www.oldnavy.com !!!

Getting to know us...

Jamie tagged me. So, here is a little something about Trent & Amy. Our lives are not that exciting, but here you go:

(Life before kids, actually pregnant w/Aiden and Andrew!)

*What is your name? Trent and Amy.
*How long have you been together? It has been 8 years this month since our first date.
*How long did you date? 6 months, engaged for 4.
*How old are you? Trent 30, Amy 28
*Who eats more? To look at us you would think me, but I think Trent may consume a tiny bit more.
*Who said I love you first? Trent. After our third date he asked what I thought about getting married. My first thought, “Psycho.” That is when my 6 month rule was established. And we didn’t break my rule, well, maybe by a few days.
*Who is taller? Trent. But I don’t know if you can say "tall." The question should be: Who is not the shortest?
*Who can sing better? Neither
*Who is smarter? Trent. He can do pretty much anything.
*Who does the laundry? Both of us. When you have to do 2 loads a day it is good to tag team it!
*Who pays the bills? Trent. It may not be a good thing, but I usually don’t know where our money goes or how much we have.
*Who sleeps on the right side? Me.
*Who mows the lawn? Trent. He won’t let me mow the lawn because I won’t do it right???
*Who cooks dinner? Me. If you can call it a dinner.
*Who is more stubborn? Trent.
*Who kissed who first? Trent.
*Who asked who out first? Trent. After having my number for a year and after dating one of my best friends! I am glad it didn’t work out for them. ;)
*Who proposed? Trent. “So, will you?”
*Who has more friends? Definitely me. On our first date we hung out with Trent’s 2 sisters, 1 brother, 1 cousin, and his ONE friend. But honestly, it is great when your best friends are your family!
*Who is more sensitive? Trent sensitive? Most people are afraid of him.
*Who has more siblings? Trent, by three.
*Who wears the pants? Both of us. (see earlier post, Just a Little Fun)

*I tag Cecilie, Autumn, and Amber D.*

NO WATER!?!?!?

We woke up this morning with no water. It seems that a water line broke just above our house. So, now adding to my daily chores is melting snow so we can flush the toilets, wash dishes, and what ever else we might need water for. It has made me realize how unprepared we are for a real disaster. Especially if we didn't have electricity to melt snow. The Jensens would surely perish. But fortunately for us a crew is already out front digging up the street to fix the problem. Meanwhile, my boys are playing "Ratatouille" while melting the snow.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it STOP!!!

I used to really love the snow, but since having kids, it has taken its' toll on my mental stability. It would be different if it didn't take a half an hour to get my kids in their snow clothes for only 10 mins of snow fun! Then it takes another half an hour to get them all undressed and warm. I need the summer back, so I can send my kids out to roam freely! But, unfortunately, we have six more weeks of winter ahead of us. We will see if we survive up here in the insane asylum!

However, I do love our backyard in the snow. It is very peaceful and quiet. Pretty much the exact opposite of what is going on inside our house!

Superbowl Sunday...

Well, the game was not good, but the company and food were great. Trent's family drove to our house (in the snow storm) and watched the game with us. Most of us were hoping the Patriots would take it all, but unfortunately they didn't show up last night. Well, at least Eli won't have to hear "Why can't you be more like you brother?"

Funny Kids!

My kids are crazy all the time and sometimes I wonder what they are thinking about when they do certain things. Here are some of our funny moments!
Aiden & Andrew always find a new way to play with their toys.
Floam is no exception!

Oakley loves to dress up as "Spooky Bones Santa."

Paige looks pretty stylish in her cool shades!

Morgan rolled herself up in her blanket. I peeked in and this is what I saw! Isn't she cute?
