The next morning back in our own home, Oakley and Morgan both had thrown up in their beds. Paige's turn was next and she threw up in her bed during nap time. Paige and Morgan threw up periodically for the rest of the day. The next morning miraculously there was no throw up in any one's bed. Yay! But the lack of vomit only lasted 1 hour, Paige and Morgan started throwing up again. Grandma Teri came out and helped out a bit. It is hard to hold 2 sick babies that cry nonstop and clean up throw every couple hours. I was so thankful for the extra set of hands.
That night Aiden said he didn't feel very good. We put him to bed with a bowl and told him that if he felt sick to throw up in the bowl. We didn't actually think that would happen, but we thought we would try. To my amazement I heard him throwing up and I went in and found he had made it ALL in the bowl. It was the most cute, disgusting thing ever. He was so proud of himself for not getting anything dirty. We had to go downstairs to tell dad. I don't know who was more exciting about it, Trent & I or Aiden. ;)
The next morning the girls were still not their usual selves. We dealt with a few more throw ups through out the day. I think over the past few days I have done at least 12 loads of throw up bedding, blankets, clothes, and towels. Along with the wonderful vomit we have experienced quite a bit of diarrhea. Gross stuff coming out of both ends is not fun for the ones experiencing it or the ones that have to clean it up. I feel like I have permanent stench about me. Yuck.
Today I am happy to say that no one is throwing up, the girls are walking around playing (they didn't move for the past 3 days), and I will be getting back to normal things. I will be spraying everything in this house with Lysol to make sure we don't deal with any other sickness for at least a few days.
This is how Paige and Morgan brought in the New Year. Sleeping, crying, and throwing up on this couch. Poor girls...and poor parents. I did have a huge post of things I wanted to change for the upcoming year. That post is gone. All I want is sick free kids. I know I shouldn't complain, because we have very minor sicknesses when compared to others, but I don't know if I can handle anymore disgusting bodily fluids coming out of my kids. So here is to health for the next year...please.
Happy New Year Everyone!

Ew. I wanted to throw up just reading that post. I'm sorry the hoard has been so sick. It doesn't sound like any fun for anyone - especially you.
You still amaze me with all you manage to get done, and still stay sane at the same time. You're awesome.
PS - Tell Trent that even though I was saying something nice, and complimenting you, I was sincere and meant everyone word of it. Contrary to what he thinks, some people choose to see the good in others.
EWWW!! Throw up is so disgusting! How did you not throw up cleaning up everyone elses puke? And even Trent joined in on all of this FUN??? THAT is crazy!! I hope they are done at least for a little while. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Seriously, how on earth are you still sane after all of that?? I would have lost my mind! Sounds like rotavirus (hopefully it's not). Ethan had it coming out of both ends for weeks two years ago. I just realized how disgusting this all must sound and how casually we can talk about gross stuff. Must be a nurse thing :)
That sounds awful! There is nothing worse than cleaning up throw up. It creates so much laundry! I'm very sorry, but glad everyone is feeling better!
Oh, that is so sad! I feel bad for you and your kids! I don't want you to have any sick kids for this year! Espcaily not in Hawaii! I hope everyone is up and running by then! you never cease to amaze me with all you do! It for sure sounds like you've had your hands full!
Are you trying to make the rest of us sick? Thank heaven I'm not the throwing up type. Reading it made my stomach hurt though. Sorry they have all been sick, no fun:(
I thought that Alex throwing up in his bed two time last week was bad, but you win. Sorry that everyone has been so sick :(
Wow. I must say I feel pretty sorry for you right now... and your poor kids! But the vomit in the bowl thing was pretty cute/funny in its own discusting way ;) I am definetly wishing a HEALTHY 2009!!!
Two words: rubber sheet. But seriously, that is totally wretched! I'm so sorry you've had such a yucky start to the new year. I bet it was Trent's proudest day when Aiden stayed clean! J/K. Hope things (and children) get better soon! -B
I am so sorry!! That is seriously awful. I don't know how you handle that. Hopefully the new year will bring some happy healthy children.
Oh Amy that is so Hard! I hate when they are sick! I have been so lucky so far not to have sick kids but winter isn't over yet! Hope they are better before your trip!
oh, man. sorry doesn't cover it. i will say, however, that it is amazing how much easier it gets as they get older...and your kids will move to that stage practically together!! (which gives me hope for you since Aiden showed the first signs of better days to come!) my least favorite ailment (of those "shouldn't"-complain-about-but-still-will-because-it-sucks type). so glad you are through it. hopefully you've paid your sick dues for a very long time to come!!!
Man that is a lot of vomit. I take my hat off to you! :)
so after reading that you really amaze me, even more than before. How do you have time to post with all that yuck going on? Glad things are going better, hopefully that stays for a while.
Honestly, I don't know how you do it. We talked about this a bit at the Progressive dinner, but I just can't imagine dealing with all that throw-up - especially when you spell it out like in this post. Bless you for being Mother of the Year (you earned this title the moment you birthed your FIRST set of twins and the clout behind it just grew after that!) and here's hoping to a LONG non-throw-up streak!!
