Kung Fu Panda Party!!!

Being the slacker that I am, I had a hard time planning a birthday celebration for Aiden and Andrew. We went to St. George over New Years (more on that to come) and I decided I would do a little Kung Fu Panda party down there. And, of course, I waited until the night before to plan anything and begin preparations. We were sad that not all the family could be there, but having a birthday right after Christmas is the pits. With so many things going on, we decided to push their party back a week.
Even with having only the Veigel's there (and Grandma Teri!) the boys were still spoiled. They haven't stopped playing with the toys they received. It is so nice to actually see them play with toys instead of dumping them out and leaving the room! Poor Andrew broke out in a rash the day we got to St. George and by the time his party came around he had it all on his face. Makes for some memorable pictures!
I couldn't think of any games to play, but I finally came up with "pin the noodles in Kung Fu Panda's mouth." We could barely get Aiden and Andrew to do it. Andrew was freaking out that he couldn't see. We tried to explain that was the point of the game, but he couldn't get over it. So, not that big of a hit. And to think I spent 1 hour coloring in the black parts with a fine black marker. That'll teach me to be nice.

Finally the cake. The boys loved their Kung Fu Panda cake....Trent not so much. Trent was hating the black frosting. So, before I gave each of the kids a piece I "had" to scrape off all the black stuff. I know, we are no fun as parents.
We had a great party and the kids did end up having fun, even if the game was lame. Thanks to everyone for the gifts, my parents for hosting the party and feeding us, and thanks to Grandma Teri for representing the Jensens. It was a great day!

Sweet.

It looks like the party was full of "awesomeness"... and "attractiveness." ;)

Happy Birthday to Andrew and Aiden! That party looks like it was a lot of fun! I would've needed weeks to plan something that creative and fun!!

What was your post a few weeks ago about not being a fun and cute mom???? I'm pretty sure you qualify. Way to go.

What a cute party! The cake turned out so great and I loved the game - even if it wasn't totally appreciated. Glad you got to have a SG break over the holidays! Happy Birthday to your cute boys!

Wow, as usual, I'm so impressed! For waiting until the night before to plan, it looks like a fun party to me! I wouldn't be able to have a party turn out that well if I'd planned it for weeks. Happy Birthday, guys!!!

This morning Aiden came down and told me about his cake. He then said that Mom had to give it to us without frosting. I didn't understand until now, that is SO funny!

Those poor deprived kids. How are they ever going to turn out normal when their dad is such a psycho. It's a very good thing that Amy is their mother or nothing fun would ever happen at our house because it would make a mess.

(Just make sure you keep the soup cans stacked properly and the bath towells aligned correctly.)

Trent - You are the guy from Sleeping with the Enemy.

Amy - Awesome party! Looks like SG was fun. I'm sorry we missed it all. I love that in a previous post you said you aren't the "cute, fun mom type". Whatever to that!

I have an addition to my comment: I think you look super cute in these pictures. I love the scarf! I know that Trent not say it in the nicest way, but looking like his sisters isn't that bad. I think you are cute and you always look good in the new styles you try. I love it!

I love Kung Fu Panda. The "put the noodles in the panda's mouth" game is so clever and I love the little noodle balls. You did awesome. It doesn't matter how the party went for the boys, when they are older, you have the pictures to show them what an awesome mom you are and they will just assume that they had so much fun as kids. Way to build the memories.
