Grammy's Recap

Last night I got to watch the Grammy's. I love seeing what people are wearing (or not wearing) and I love the performances. All in all it was a fun night. Here are some of my thoughts on the show.

  • Loved watching the Red Carpet show On ET. But didn't like the 360 degree picture thing. And I kinda don't like Ryan Seacrest.
  • Trent thought there was a striking resemblance between Rihanna and Gozar from Ghostbusters. And I can't disagree with him...

  • Lady Gaga is absolutely the weirdest dresser out there. She looks like she is going into orbit.

  • I didn't mind her performance though, probably because I love "Poker Face" and the Moulin Rouge song by Elton John (don't know the real name). And Andrew wanted her to burn again. And I told him she probably will some day...

  • Hated Beyonce's, Black Eyed Peas', Jamie Fox's, and Eminem's so called performances.

  • Got to enjoy some time with this girl. Always a treat. And I love my humongous cheeks and jaw bone in the pick. Very Robert Pattinson looking...yuck.

  • Brooke and I having our favorite quotes for the night. Brooke-"I HATE her, him, this song, etc." Mine-"What is that?" referring to clothes, hair styles, and such.

  • Little disappointed with the Micheal Jackson Tribute. They should have done a reenactment of Thriller or something. And no 3D. Not everyone has 3D glasses lying around.

  • Loved Lady Antebellum's performance. Love their voices and I love the song, "Need You Now."
  • I don't like when they bring back old singers to ruin new songs. I am sorry to say, but I think as you age your voice does too. Just doesn't sound that great. Not that I have room to talk with my lovely vocals...
  • Loved Loved Loved Taylor Swift. She seems so genuine and seems to still have some morals left. Loved that she won Album of the Year. She definitely deserves it. And I loved her dress.

  • And I LOVED Pink's song she did last night. Loved that it was a slow song and I love the little Cirque Du Soleil act she did. Although, very disappointed in her outfit. I didn't know they made outfits out of masking tape...

I really like Lady Antebellum, too. Most of the other music you mentioned isn't my style, but I do agree with you on that one!

I feel old reading your post. I wish I would've watched it, but even then I wouldn't have known who everyone was. What's the matter with me?? I swore I'd never get old.

Your reply to Andrew made me laugh. I think I may just have to catch up on the Grammys after reading this post. It looks like it was an interesting one.

"I hate him!"

"I hate this song!"

"I hate that dress!"

"Aiden, who is that?"

"Jesus."

sadly, I did not watch...except I saw the MJ tribute, and I thought it was lame too! And after reading this, now I don't have to watch...thanks for the recap! you're such a cutie!

I didn't watch it this year but Trent's comment is still making me laugh. So true, and so funny that he can still remember names of characters on Ghost Bustbusters (one of my favorite movies when I was a kid!)

I agree with your comments. I recorded it and watched the parts that interested me and my favs were Lady Antebellum and Pink. I can't believe Pink can sing like that spinning upside down in the air, dripping wet. Seriously. I mean I probably could too, I just haven't tried that before:).

you are awesome. i missed the grammys. we had to watch the x games instead, but it was all that was talked about at work today. most people had the same comments as you. pink and her non-dress and how bad beyonce sucked.

I didn't get to see one second of the Grammys. Boo. Nice recap. That first pic is hilarious!

In other news, Trent showed me pics of your basement. It honestly looks amazing! I can't even believe it's the same space - so much lighter, it looks bigger, on and on. And I can't believe how good the wood paneling looks! I love it all! We're ready for a movie night. So invite us up!

I didn't get to see all of the Grammy's, and I'm bummed that I missed Lady Gaga's performance... she's so weirdly fascinating! Also I LOVE LOVE Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift. She hasn't been ruined by fame yet, and I agree with you that she seems to have some morals and I like that about her, she's actually a more positive role model to the millions of teenage girls who look up to her. (Can't say the same for Britney, Lindsey and the rest!) I also like that she writes her own music and has real talent. Fun post, thanks!

PS I'm anxiously awaiting pictures of the basement!!

Amy I love the sleepover idea, if I weren't almost 40 I would try it! Do you think my older kids would think I was nuts if I asked them to sleep on the floor with me? The Grammy's are so fun to watch I'm always wondering if I am going to get flashed or mooned...your a hoot, do they have Grammy awards for blogs? If so you should win, I am going to check into that!

I missed the grammy's except for Taylor Swift perfomrance in which she was off key most of the time. The coments on youtube are not nice, but true. I am glad she won even thought she can't do a live performance.
