Oscar Recap

I know I am a week late, but I love doing an Oscar Recap. I think it could be fun to look pack through the years and see the best and worst fashions, jokes, and what not. So here goes.

This year it was hosted by Seth McFarlane. I was a little nervous at first because he can be really dirty, but I actually loved him. However he is no Billy Crystal, but definitely better than when Anne Hathaway and James Franco hosted 2 years ago.

I loved his jokes and the fact that he made fun of everybody. It didn't matter their race, age, status, religion, or sex. I seriously laughed out loud at some parts. But one of my favorite things were his songs. And I was so surprised by his singing voice. He was actually really good. And I am sorry to say, but the "We Saw Your Boobs" was one of the funniest things I have ever heard.

Now on to the good of the night. I am not a huge Channing Tatum fan, but loved that he was there with his cute pregnant wife. I love everything about this picture.

Here are the dresses I loved. I loved how simple Jennifer Lawrence's dress was, but at the same time not simple. I thought she looked really pretty, which is saying a lot for me, because I haven't been a big fan until this. I LOVED Sandra Bullock's dress. Loved the color, the cut, patterns, and the sparkles. I mean it is almost garment appropriate. Next time I need to wear a formal dress it could be this one. Loved Zoe Saldana and Kerry Washington's dresses. Loved the busy, flowery tops for some reason, which isn't like me.  And I don't know what it is about Amy Adam's dress, but I loved it. And I thought she looked extra pretty that night.

And the best men. I don't necessarily like Daniel Day Lewis's tux, but I thought he did such a good job as Lincoln and seeing how he won best actor I thought I would include him. And one of my new crushes is Eddie Reymour. Loved him in Les Miserables and can't wait to see what he is in next. Ben Affleck is cuter now than he was 15 years ago. Love his directing ability and loved Argo. Bradley Cooper is just hot. That's all I have to say about that. And finally, LOVE Hugh Jackman. He seems like such a down to earth nice guy and loved that he jumped right up to help Jennifer Lawrence when she tripped on the stairs. Seriously love him.

Now for the worst.

First of all what is up with the women that won best hair and makeup to not have done their own hair and make up for the Oscars? And really? Hot pink tights. Not only should they not be worn at the Oscars, but they should never be worn past the 80's.

There were a lot more dresses/people I didn't like than liked this year. First off, what is up with Renee Zelweger. It seems like she aged 10 years over night. I have never been a huge fan, but ick. She didn't look good. And what was with Amanda Seyfried's interview with Kristen Chenowith? Wasn't that the most bizarre and awkward thing to see? I think she may have forgotten who she was actually "wearing." And Miss Fonda. The dress could have actually been very pretty if it wasn/t florescent yellow. I mean really. And I just didn't like Kelly Rowland and Nicole Kidman's dresses.

I love Jessica Chastain, but wasn't a huge fan of her dress. I thought the color was all wrong. And Helen Bonham Carter looked like she was dressed for her character in Sweeny Todd. Halle Berry's dress was like some futuristic robot or something. Anne Hathaway's was just not cute. It was straight and pointy at ALL the wrong places. And my least favorite, as always, Meryl Streep. HATED her dress. I actually called her Barnacle Butt, which, while she was walking to present, she was digging at something back there so my name fit just perfectly.
And the worst part of the whole night, and not a good way to end it, was Michelle Obama presenting the Best Picture. So bad and so not appropriate for the Oscar's. Not a fan of the Obama's at all.

And there you have. Until next year.

I agree with you on everything (I think) and loved your commentary. :) Oh, and I hated Michelle Obama's bangs. Seriously, is she FIVE??
