Our Easter

Finally getting to our Easter post.

We had a great Easter here at The Hoard. Filled with painting, dyeing, hunts, baskets, candy, clothes, family, and an all around good time.

For the grandparents and great grandparents we decided to paint our own flower pots and plant our own flower in it. They turned out pretty cute. I should have taken a picture of the final product. Morgan was having more fun than she looks in the pic.
We dyed the eggs on Saturday. Trent and I have decided we absolutely hate this activity.

The kids were so excited for Easter. You would have thought it was Christmas all over again.

We did the typical baskets and egg hunt.

Then we had belgian waffles, which none of the kids ate. Why do I do fun food for Holidays?

We headed to Dodee and Papa's for a delicious Easter dinner and another Easter Hunt.

Dodee and Papa watching the kids find their loot. They are always so generous with everything they do. (And Lori!)

And just to document that Trent and I were involved in the Easter celebrations here is a sp of us.

We had a great Easter and were definitely overloaded with fun and candy. We did squeeze in a discussion on why we actually celebrate Easter.

In the words of Oakley, "Because Jesus was rekter rektid on Easter."

Tangled Obsession

Miss Oakley turned 5 on Monday.

And all she wanted was a Tangled party. She has watched the movie a bazillion times. And she knows most of the songs by heart.

I was going to make a bunch of lanterns for her decorations, but just the one did me in. So I opted for frying pans instead.

And Oakley didn't want a cake, so I just made some cupcakes and called it good. You have to blow a candle out in something right?

Oakley loved her lantern. And her cute dress is from Aunt Brooke who is equally obsessed with Tangled.

The party consisted of lots of pizza, followed by a Treasure Hunt.

The kids were supposed to follow Rapunzel's hair, but they didn't quite get it.

We watched some home movies,

Opened some presents (thanks to all!),

Played with those presents,

Had a dance party,

Made a wish,

Licked the frosting,

While Jenny stole the camera and made the rounds,

And we played the cupcake game,

(I think I look like a rabbit or something. Actually, we all look rather pretty. ;))

Aiden and Andrew found an interesting way to play with their treasure hunt toys.

And Oakley had the best 5 year old party one could ask for.

We love you Oaks!!!

The Day After

About a month or two ago the kids asked when it was going to be Summer aka warmer, sunny weather. You see, we are all sick of yucky, cold weather around here. My response was always, "after Oakley's Birthday."

Well, its the day after and this is what we get.

I hate snow in April.

Date Night

We enjoyed a night out with our friends the Capsons. We love hanging out with these guys. Its one of those relationships where we just clicked and the rest is history.

We wined and dined at Red Rock.

And when I say wined I mean we consumed cream soda and coke. Blake did ask for his cream soda without the ice so it really did look like beer. ;)

We had delicious calamari, bruscetta, steak, fries, turkey sandwich, fish and chips, and a caprese sandwich-all so good.

Thanks Capsons for the good time, good food, and good laughs. Its always a pleasure.

And Happy Birthday Blake!

(And check out my earings. Most of you know I never wear dangling earings. I am branching out a bit. I am pretty sure Trent is hating it.)

Some 'Bunny' Loves Preschool

Actually a lot of people love preschool around here.

The girls came home yesterday all decked out in Easter fun. Here is a pic of Oakley's basket, with real grass she grew herself, and real eggs. I mean what preschool teacher does that?

And here is the cute Oakley with her bunny attire.
And here are the cute girls with their cheesy bunny smiles.

Next year the girls will be in the older class and come home with the real grass.

And now on to our own celebrations.

Early Alzheimers

I think I may be coming down with something serious-dementia. You may think I'm too young, I think not. Let me tell you what has slipped my mind over the past few weeks.

  • We have needed a new Mia Maid presidency for a month and I keep forgetting to tell someone in the Bishopric.

  • I left my work bag and scale at a facility, when I arrived at my next patients house I had nothing to assess them with. I had to drive all the way back across Ogden and get it.

  • I completely forgot about a baby shower last week. And you all know I look forward to a good shower, especially one of Dodee's. Sorry Dodee...and Kaelee.

  • Even as I was typing this I totally forgot it was my turn to pick up carpool. Luckily I was only a few minutes late.

  • Yesterday I went to Smiths, bought a cartfull of groceries, picked the kids up at the playland, got to the car, loaded the kids, and drove off. When I got home their were no groceries to unload. I left the cart of stuff sitting in the parking lot.

  • And here's the kicker. We went to the boys soccer game. After it was over Trent took the girls home and I was in charge of the boys. I loaded Aiden and Andrew in the car and was getting in myself when I looked out on the field and there was Oliver. I had forgotten a person.

I think it may be a good idea to set up a Dr's visit.

Two Peas in a Pod

We went to the park the other day and Trent snagged a few pics of Paige and Morgan. They are quite the pair.

Even though they are our hardest, most dramatic of the Hoard, we love having them in our family. Their cuteness makes up for any of the other not so fun moments.

And we love the fact that every time we go to the park every one of our kids has to go potty within 5 minutes of being there....and its usually number 2.

Mud

What is the 7 day forecast? A chance of rain most every day. Yuck.

And do you know what melting snow and rain make? Mud. And do you know who loves to get in said mud? My boys. I, for one, am not a fan of the weather, the mud, or my boys thinking they have to play in every mud puddle they find.

***

And just a side note, this picture of Aiden wasn't even one of the bad mud experiences. The other day I found them (after a half hour of searching the neighborhood) a couple blocks away covered with an inch of mud from their toes to their hands. Needless to say I was too mad to take pictures. And the boys had their first grounding after that as well....not so much for the mud, but for wandering off and not telling me where they were going.

Hopefully they learned their lesson.

Guess Who?

I found these on my camera.

Someone stole it and had a little bit of fun.

Any guesses who it might have been?

Fat Shirts

The girls call their leotards their Fat Shirts, because they show off their little bellies. They get pretty excited whenever they get to wear them.

Here they are showing of those 'fat' bellies. And one day I walked in their room and found this. It looks like water was poured on one of the girls and she melted right out of her clothes-just like the wicked witch from the west.

I'm Climbing Higher Than Before

Aiden has no fear of heights what so ever.

Andrew isn't as daring.

Catchin Up on the Gossip

I had to add this pic of Andrew from St. George. It kills me.

We had about a million and one magazines to look at as we relaxed poolside and Andrew got in on the Hollywood Happenings.

Midday Sleep Over

Yesterday Grandma Teri came up to watch The Hoard so we could go to a funeral. We came home to this.

Everyone was asleep except Oakley, who didn't want to miss any of Tangled. Even though she has probably seen it 30 times since it came out on dvd.

SB in SG

We decided to take our Spring Break in St. George and it was glorious. While it snowed back home we enjoyed 85 degree sunshine. Here is a quick recap of out trip. First of all we found something the kids enjoyed as much as swimming.

A bubble bath in a big tub.

Everyone except Oliver that is.
The kids also thought it was the coolest thing to have their own tv in their sleeping rooms. They watched channel "This" through out the night. At one point they were watching Sharon Osbourne on The Talk. Go figure. And the girls got to sleep in Grandma Holly's closet. And, yes, Morgan sleeps with her eyes open. We did get a little bit of conference in thanks to the Wii down stairs and to Jill for reading to the girls for more than an hour. I am serious, more than an HOUR. And of course there was swimming. With mom. With dad. Obviously dad was funner.
And we ended the nights with delicious grub. We scored when we hit Texas Roadhouse on kid night. Free ice cream for all!
I am sorry I don't have any pics of the rest of the family. We enjoyed some time with Grandma Wiggles, Kim and Oliver on the Veigel side, and Brad, Teri, Jenny, Brooke, Aubrey, Jill, Cameron, Jake, and Candice on the Jensen side.

As always we had a good time and it was a much needed break from our crazy lives. I sat in bed this morning wishing and wishing we were back down there. My kids wonder why we can't just live down there. If only....
